About the Role:
Radiology Ltd., a 500-employee medical imaging organization providing world-class imaging to improve the health of all Southern Arizona, is seeking a full-time Ultrasound Technologist for locations in Tucson. Hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Properly identify and interview patients, preparing and positioning them for diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body as requested by the physician.
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
- Move imaging equipment into specified positions, determine exposure factors based on height, weight, portion of the body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
- Perform general ultrasound procedures including abdomen, pelvis, vascular, carotids, and venous Doppler studies.
- Process images and review them for proper identification and quality control.
- Send images to PACS for reading by radiologist or requesting physician.
- Communicate with the supervisor regarding maintenance, malfunctions, and minor repairs needed on ultrasound equipment.
- Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
- Work effectively with co-workers, supervisors, patients, physicians, and other external contacts.
Qualifications:
- Current ARDMS and CPR certification.
- Two years of clinical experience preferred.
- Vascular training helpful.
- Ability to stand, bend, squat, and lift at least 50 lbs.
- This is a safety-sensitive position.
